Relationship & Couple Sessions

Finding your way back to each other can begin with a conversation.

When communication feels difficult or you keep finding yourselves in the same patterns, you do not have to figure it all out alone. I offer a warm, supportive space to slow down, listen to each other and explore what may be underneath the conflict.

When Connection Feels Difficult

A Space for Both of You

When emotions are high, it can be difficult to really hear each other.

One person may feel hurt while the other feels blamed. One may reach for closeness while the other needs space. In our sessions, there is room for both experiences. My role is not to decide who is right or wrong. Instead, I help create a space where you can slow down, listen with more curiosity and begin to understand what is happening underneath the conflict.

Together, we can explore the patterns that keep you stuck and discover new ways of relating to each other.

What We Can Explore Together

Understanding Your Relationship Patterns

Sometimes the same situations keep repeating, even when you both want something different.

We can gently explore what happens between you, what triggers each person and how you respond when you feel hurt, overwhelmed or misunderstood.

Communicating With More Honesty & Care

Healthy communication is not about always agreeing.

It is about being able to express what you feel, what you need and what matters to you while making space for the other person’s experience too.

We can explore ways of communicating with greater clarity, compassion and less blame.

Finding Your Way Back to Connection

The intention is not simply to stop an argument.

It is to understand what each of you needs in order to feel seen, respected and connected.

Small changes in the way you listen, speak and respond can sometimes create meaningful shifts in a relationship.

My Approach to Relationship Counselling

Every relationship is different, so I do not follow one fixed method.

I draw from several approaches and adapt the work to what feels most helpful for you and your relationship.

Nonviolent Communication (NVC)

Nonviolent Communication helps us explore feelings, needs, boundaries and requests in a way that can support more open and compassionate conversations.

Instead of focusing on blame, we can become curious about what each person is really trying to communicate.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

Sometimes our reactions in relationships can feel bigger or stronger than we expect.

IFS can help us become curious about the different parts of ourselves that show up during conflict, including fear, anger, hurt or protective responses.

With more understanding and compassion towards these parts, we can create more space to respond rather than simply react.

Relational & Somatic Awareness

Relationships are experienced not only through words but also through the body.

We may notice body sensations, emotional responses and patterns of activation as they arise during a conversation.

This can help you become more aware of what is happening in the moment and create space for a different response.

What Happens During the Sessions?

We begin with what feels most important for you and your relationship at that moment.

Arriving Together

We create space for both to share what has been happening and what you hope to explore.

Understanding What Is Happening

We gently look at the patterns between you, including conflict, communication, emotional responses, needs and boundaries.

Making Space for Both Experiences

Each person has an opportunity to express themselves while also creating space to listen and understand the other.

Exploring a New Way Forward

Together, we look for different ways of communicating and responding that can support greater understanding and connection.

When Mediation Could Support You

Sometimes having a neutral third person can make it easier to have a conversation that feels too difficult to navigate on your own.

A Mediation or Relationship Session can provide a supportive structure where both perspectives can be heard without taking sides. The intention is not to decide who is right or wrong. It is to slow things down, understand what is really happening and create space for a more constructive conversation.

If you are unsure whether mediation or relationship counselling would be more appropriate for you, we can explore this together during an introduction call.

Support for Couples, Partners & Family Relationships

This work may be helpful if you are:

  • A couple wanting to reconnect
  • Partners experiencing repeated conflict
  • Struggling to communicate openly
  • Feeling emotionally distant
  • Navigating an important life transition together
  • Trying to understand recurring relationship patterns
  • Family members experiencing ongoing tension
  • Looking for support before making an important relationship decision

You do not need to know exactly what kind of support you need before reaching out.

Restoring Connection

I believe your story deserves time to be fully heard. That is why I choose to begin our journey together with a gentle, 3-hour initial couples therapy session. This extended time together creates an unhurried, supportive container where you both can catch your breath. Together, we will look at where you are right now, and see how to move forward. During this first deep dive, we will see which is the best format, frequency, and session length for your ongoing relationship support.

I offer these specialized sessions both online and in-person at my practice in Soest, making deep support accessible wherever you feel most comfortable.

One 3-hour session

A spacious session for couples or relationship partners who want to slow down, understand what is happening and begin creating a different way of connecting. There is room to explore the relationship dynamic, hear both perspectives and begin working with what is underneath the conflict.

What Makes This Work Different?

I do not see relationship work as a question of finding the person who is right. Every person brings their own history, experiences, emotions, needs and protective patterns into a relationship. My role is to create enough space for everyone involved to be seen and heard.

From there, we can become curious about what is happening between you and explore what might help you relate to
