Explore Your Inner World Through IFS
What if the different sides of you that sometimes seem to pull in opposite directions actually have a reason for being there?
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a therapeutic model that understands our inner world as made up of different parts: protective parts, vulnerable parts, and a deeper sense of Self that can relate to these parts with curiosity, compassion and presence.
In this two-day experiential IFS workshop in Amsterdam, you will be introduced to the foundations of the Internal Family Systems model and have the opportunity to explore it through guided practices, reflection and partner exercises.
Rather than simply learning about IFS intellectually, we will explore what it feels like to experience the model from within. You will learn to recognise your own parts, understand their intentions, notice when you become blended with them, and begin developing a different relationship with your inner world.
This Workshop Is For You If You:
- Are curious about Internal Family Systems and want to experience the model for yourself
- Notice different parts of you wanting different things
- Find yourself repeating patterns in relationships, work or everyday life
- Want to understand your reactions with more curiosity and compassion
- Have already done personal development or therapy and want to explore your inner world more deeply
- Are a therapist, coach or practitioner interested in learning the foundations of IFS for your own development
This is an educational and experiential workshop, not an IFS certification training or a substitute for individual therapy. No previous experience with IFS is required.

Meet Your Facilitator: Alejandra Rodriguez
I’m Alejandra, a trauma-informed practitioner and IFS Level 3 trained facilitator based in the Netherlands.
My work brings together Internal Family Systems (IFS), body psychotherapy, Core Energetics, Nonviolent Communication and psychedelic-informed practice.
I completed all three levels of IFS training with the International IFS Institute, and I integrate the IFS model into my therapeutic and personal development work.
For me, IFS is not about fixing or getting rid of parts of ourselves. It is an invitation to become curious about our inner world, understand what our parts are trying to protect, and develop a more compassionate relationship with ourselves.
In this workshop, I want to offer you a warm, grounded space to learn IFS and, most importantly, experience it for yourself.
A Space to Slow Down, Explore & Connect
This is an experiential workshop, which means you won’t be sitting and listening to theory for two days.
We’ll combine short teachings with guided practices, personal reflection, meditation, demonstrations and partner exercises, giving you the opportunity to explore the IFS model through your own experience.
There will be space to slow down and notice what is happening within you, while learning to approach your parts with curiosity rather than judgement.
You’ll be invited to explore at your own pace. There is no pressure to share anything you don’t want to share, and you don’t need to have a particular experience or outcome.
The intention is to create a warm, safe and supportive space where you can learn the foundations of Internal Family Systems, deepen your understanding of your inner world, and begin to build a different relationship with your parts.
What You’ll Take With You
By the end of the workshop, you’ll have a practical introduction to the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model and a deeper understanding of your own inner system.
You’ll have the opportunity to:
- Recognise and map some of your own parts
- Understand the difference between protective and vulnerable parts
- Notice when you become blended with a part and explore what unblending can feel like
- Develop a more curious and compassionate relationship with your inner world
- Learn the foundations of the 6 Fs and how they can be used to get to know a part
- Experience guided IFS practices and a live demonstration
- Explore how IFS can be brought into everyday life, relationships and personal growth
- Have a foundation from which you can continue exploring IFS after the workshop
You don’t need to leave with all the answers. The invitation is simply to become a little more curious about what is happening within yo, and to discover what becomes possible when you meet your parts with compassion.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is an Internal Family Systems Workshop?
An IFS workshop is an opportunity to learn about and experience Internal Family Systems (IFS), a therapeutic model that understands our inner world as made up of different parts. In this two-day IFS workshop in Amsterdam, you’ll learn the foundations of the model and explore your own parts through guided practices, reflection, meditation and partner exercises.
What is Internal Family Systems (IFS)?
Internal Family Systems, often called IFS or Parts Work, is a therapeutic model developed by Richard Schwartz. It views the mind as made up of different parts, including protective and vulnerable parts, and recognises a core Self that can relate to these parts with curiosity, compassion and presence.
Do I need previous experience with IFS?
No. The workshop is designed for beginners and no previous experience with Internal Family Systems is required. You don’t need to have studied IFS, worked with a therapist using IFS, or know how to identify your parts before attending.
Is this IFS workshop suitable for therapists and coaches?
Yes. Therapists, coaches and other practitioners who are curious about Internal Family Systems are welcome. The workshop offers an experiential introduction to the foundations of IFS and can also be an opportunity to explore the model through your own personal experience.
Is this an IFS certification or professional training?
No. This is a two-day introductory and experiential IFS workshop, not an IFS certification training. It is designed to introduce you to the foundations of Internal Family Systems and give you an opportunity to experience the model for yourself.
Is the IFS workshop in Amsterdam suitable for personal development?
Yes. You do not need to be a therapist or practitioner to attend. Many people are drawn to IFS because they want to better understand their emotions, inner conflicts, relationships and recurring patterns, or simply want to deepen their personal development and self-awareness.
What will I learn during the IFS workshop?
You’ll explore the foundations of the IFS model, protective and vulnerable parts, Self and Self-energy, discovering and mapping your parts, blending and unblending, the 6 Fs, and ways of bringing IFS into everyday life. The workshop also includes guided practices, an IFS demonstration and partner exercises.
Will we actually practice IFS during the workshop?
Yes. This is an experiential workshop rather than a lecture-based course. Alongside learning about the IFS model, you’ll have opportunities to explore your own parts through guided exercises, meditation, reflection and partner practice.
What are the 6 Fs in IFS?
The 6 Fs are a practical framework used in IFS to help develop a relationship with a part. They are often described as Find, Focus, Flesh Out, Feel Toward, Befriend and Fear. During the workshop, you’ll be introduced to this process and have an opportunity to experience it.
What is Self-energy in IFS?
In IFS, Self refers to a core aspect of ourselves associated with qualities such as curiosity, compassion, calmness, clarity, confidence, courage, creativity and connectedness. The workshop introduces the concept of Self and Self-energy as part of learning the foundations of the IFS model.
What are “parts” in IFS?
In IFS, parts are the different aspects of our inner world that can have their own emotions, thoughts, beliefs, needs and intentions. Some parts may be protective, while others may carry more vulnerable experiences. Learning to recognise and relate to these parts with curiosity is an important part of the IFS process.
Is an IFS workshop the same as therapy?
No. This workshop is an educational and experiential introduction to Internal Family Systems rather than individual psychotherapy. You’ll be invited to explore your own inner world, but there is no expectation to share personal experiences or work on specific therapeutic issues.
How much does the IFS workshop cost?
The early bird price is €265 and the regular price is €295. Places are limited.
Can I attend if I am already in therapy?
Yes. The workshop can complement an existing personal development or therapeutic journey. However, it is not a replacement for individual therapy, and the workshop is not designed to provide individual therapeutic treatment.
Can I attend if I am interested in becoming an IFS practitioner?
The workshop can be a useful way to experience the foundations of IFS and discover whether the model resonates with you. However, it is not a professional IFS training or certification program. Anyone interested in formal IFS training should explore the requirements of recognised IFS training pathways separately.
